in memory of ... Steven Charles Sutton, Jr

God decided He wanted my grandson Steven with Him yesterday ...

although our hearts are broken today ...

we rest in the assurance that Steven will greet us in heaven one day !!!

we got to spend some time with him today and this is a picture of his footprints.

couldn't help but think of the poem "footprints" and how true it rings for us today.

One night a man had a dream. He dreamed he was walking along the beach with the LORD. Across the sky flashed scenes from his life. For each scene he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand. One belonging to him and the other to the LORD. When the last scene of his life flashed before him, he looked back at the footprints in the sand. He noticed that many times along the path of his life there was only one set of footprints. He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times of his life.This really bothered him and he questioned the LORD about it. LORD you said that once i decided to follow you, you'd walk with me all the way. But i have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life there is only one set of footprints. i don't understand why when i needed you most you would leave me.The LORD replied, my precious, precious child, I Love you and I would never leave you! During your times of trial and suffering when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you.

a tradition continues ...

Isaac and i continued our Super Bowl tradition [ 2 years running now ] of watching the game together ... he had his Cardinals red shirt on and this look was a result of Larry Fitzgeralds amazing catch and run for a touchdown to put the Cardinals ahead ... he said " dude • i mean grampa ... that number 11 is THE best " ... Aunt Terri and i couldn't have agreed with him more. but ... the steelers came back and ... [ did what do steelers do ] they stole the game back in the final seconds. oh well ... it was a great game and we had much fun together ... see for yourselves.

Isaac thought it was awesome that his cousins Jalene & Evan & Janelle along with Aunt Terri and Uncle Paul were also rooting for their now hometown Cardinals ...

Isaac brought a toy out that i recognized ... it was a bear his dad played with 28 years earlier ... [ see 2nd picture ] ...

our Princess Thea turned 2 today ...

it's hard for us to believe we've had Thea for 2 years already ... and ... it's much harder to get good pictures of dogs than it is of grandbabies

Quality "TIME" with Isaac ...

Issac does this thing that just melts this grampas heart ... he LOVES to play with my watch ... he also LOVES to take my hat off and usually just gives the hat right back ... but recently i have been getting him to wear it for a lil'bit ... well, sometimes just long enough to capture a precious moment in time.

he gets me to take my watch off ... then he puts it on ... then takes it off and gives it right back ... we do this over and over and over til he gets tired of it • as i never do !!!

he is so CUTE ... ya just want to hug and kiss him all the time !!!

the 2nd best thing about Christmas ...

i think this Christmas gift was a winner ... what do you think ??? and ... how cute they decided the 3 peep snowmen in front of the house are ... Jalene on the sled and Gramma Ruth and i the other 2 !!!

we knew Jalene would welcome Ev's help and we knew they would have an awesome time doing this

poor Janelle has been sick for a few days with an ear infection ... if not i'm sure she would have helped with the project too

and after sitting for a short time ... the house became a new years eve treat ... reports are as we had hoped ... it indeed tasted as good as it looked • great stuff !!!

Christmas weekend ...

Steph & Steve made our Christmas weekend complete with their visit today ... they are approximately 3 months and 13 days into their first pregnancy and we are all SO excited with anticipation for them ... we're sure the last 5 months and couple of weeks will fly by ... for us anyways ... it may be a different story for them ... Adam brought Isaac over so we could see him in the awesome outfit we got him for Christmas and ... to copy many of the pictures i've taken of them the past few months ...

Isaac LOVES walking around and around in our little apartment ... we're not sure if he's chasing Thea or if Thea is chasing him sometimes ...

Isaac and Thea always have great fun playing with each other ...

Christmas day 2008 ...

we were blessed to spend this Christmas day with Adam, Jenn, Isaac and Julian ... thank you Adam & Jenn for having us in your beautiful new home for a "yummy" dinner and a wonderful time together !!!

we started out our time together "skyping" with the Mackmers in phoenix ... how awesome it was to see and talk with them on this special day !!!

by the time we got there ... Isaac had the gift opening down ... too cute !!!
